Early Voting

Why do we have Early Voting?

Did you know that the voter turnout for the last County Legislator election in Webster District 8 was 31%? As you can see, elections are often determined just as much by who doesn’t vote as by who does.

In January 2019, the newly elected Democratic Senate and Assembly in New York State passed early voting to be implemented this year. This was a huge step in the effort to make voting more accessible to everyone and ensuring that elections reflect the will of the people.

How does Early Voting Work?

On Tuesday November 5th, 2019 your polling place will operate as usual. Polls are open from 6am-9pm and you can only vote at your assigned polling place.

Find that here.

New this year, 7 additional polling locations will be open to anyone in Monroe County beginning on October 26th. You give them your name and address and they will print your ballot for you.
