Advocate for Family Support Programs

Early Intervention services are critical, and in June 2019 Monroe County had 200 children on a waiting list. As a mother, Megan knows how crucial the first few years of life are for development.

Advocate for children. Monroe County shares the funding for Early Intervention services with New York State. Megan will advocate for more funding from the State to quickly eliminate the waiting list.

Build a long-term strategy. Children who do not receive early intervention services typically receive support at school. Because the first few years are so critical, it takes about $20k more per child to catch them up to where they would have been with appropriate services.
